ICO closes criminal probe

On Wednesday, June 17 the Information Commissioner’s Office announced it had concluded a criminal investigation into the unlawful obtaining and disclosure of medical information following a breach the London Clinic reported in March 2024. The ICO said the conduct involved the deliberate misuse of highly sensitive personal data and an offer to disclose it for financial gain.

Formal caution for staffer

A healthcare professional at The London Clinic received a formal caution after an internal inquiry. The ICO judged a caution to be an appropriate and proportionate enforcement response for what it described as a clear breach of trust.
