Kate skipped Ascot in 2024 while undergoing cancer treatment and had been expected to return the following year before a carriage listing was amended. After announcing remission in early 2025, she has spoken about the difficult period after treatment and the need for support as she eases back into public life. Her mother Carole Middleton and sister-in-law Alizee Thevenet were among those at Ascot.
