CNN's Paula Reid reported sources saying there is not currently a DOJ investigation directly into Newsom; rather, several probes are being run out of a U.S. Attorney’s office in California into people connected to the governor, including one into his wife for potential tax-related crimes, per that reporting.
Newsom also blasted Trump for profiteering and branded merchandise, calling out what he described as corruption, and ended his statement by daring the president to "come after me," saying he won't back down.
