Judge Apologizes After Alleged White House Dinner Intruder Says Jail 'Stripped Him of Dignity'

Judge steps in

At a May 4 hearing Judge Zia M. Faruqui rebuked the treatment, apologized to the defendant and ordered the jail to notify the court about housing decisions. The suspect was subsequently removed from suicide watch and was granted a Bible he had requested.

Prosecutors point to writings

Prosecutors highlighted an alleged manifesto and other material, saying the writings prioritized administration officials as targets. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro described the defendant as armed and focused, noting he had photographed himself and appeared proud in his preparations.
