Kylie Jenner returned to the Met Gala in a jaw-dropping custom Schiaparelli look that took thousands of hours and tens of thousands of embellishments—what was behind the dramatic corset and pearl-studded skirt? Read on to discover the full story!
The 28-year-old made her ninth Met appearance in a nude corset with faux nipples beneath a voluminous butter duchess satin skirt. The gown was embroidered with more than 2,000 satin stitch balls, 10,000 natural baroque pearls and over 7,000 painted pearlescent fish scales—work that required roughly 11,000 hours of embroidery. She paired it with an antique silver necklace set with rhinestones, pearls and tiny hand-sculpted bird heads, plus matching chandelier earrings.
